Course Dates

Attendees observe the live surgical case and perform hands-on work on models and cadaver specimens — no Arizona license is required. Only two All-on-4® course dates run each year.

The Full-Arch Gap in Most Dentists' Training

Full-arch implant treatment is where surgical planning, surgical execution, and same-day restorative dentistry converge — and it's exactly the treatment most implant courses only talk about. Slides can't show you how a full-arch case actually unfolds, and they can't put a handpiece in your hands afterward.

This All-on-4® cadaver course is built around both. Over three days in Phoenix, you'll observe a complete live All-on-4® surgical case, then work through the same surgical sequence on mandibular and maxillary cadaver specimens.

How the three days unfold

Day 1 grounds the surgery in planning: CBCT interpretation, bone assessment, and the anatomical landmarks that govern full-arch implant positions, including a live treatment-planning session. You'll then observe Dr. Joe Mehranfar treat a single-arch or dual-arch All-on-4® case — incision, bone reduction, implant placement — followed by hands-on implant and multi-unit abutment exercises on models.

Day 2 moves you to the cadaver lab for mandibular training — incision, implant placement, abutment placement — plus analog conversion for a same-day temporary prosthesis, observation of the prosthesis delivery from Day 1's case, and maxillary cadaver training.

Day 3 deepens the surgical work with advanced mandibular cadaver practice and the digital capture workflow, observation of 3D-printed prosthesis fabrication and delivery, and completion of the maxillary work with a final case review.

Observation and hands-on, clearly separated

To be direct about what you do and what you watch: attending dentists observe Dr. Mehranfar's live surgical case and the prosthesis fabrication and delivery. Attending dentists perform the hands-on work on models and cadaver specimens. No attendee treats a live patient in this course.

Dr. Blake Adams leads the didactic, hands-on model, cadaver, treatment-planning, and post-surgical educational components — so the same instructor guiding your planning is standing at your cadaver station.

Why it's taught in a small group

Full-arch surgery rewards precision, and precision requires feedback. Enrollment is capped at eight dentists per course, so instructors review your implant angulation and abutment decisions specimen by specimen, not from a stage.

You'll leave with 24 CEUs, a planning-through-prosthesis mental model of the All-on-4® workflow, and cadaver repetitions on both arches — the groundwork for pursuing full-arch treatment with appropriate mentorship. Two course dates run each year; registration details are below.

Why Dentists Choose This Course

  • Observe a complete live All-on-4® surgical case — incision, bone reduction, implant placement — performed by Dr. Joe Mehranfar, then see the same patient's prosthesis delivered.
  • Perform the full-arch surgical sequence yourself on mandibular and maxillary cadaver specimens: incision, implant placement, and multi-unit abutment placement.
  • Practice analog conversion for a same-day temporary prosthesis, connecting the surgical and restorative halves of full-arch treatment.
  • Study CBCT interpretation, bone assessment, and anatomical landmarks in a live treatment-planning session before watching those decisions executed in surgery.
  • See the digital side of modern full-arch work, including observation of 3D-printed prosthesis fabrication and delivery.
  • Earn 24 CEUs in a course capped at eight dentists, where instructors critique your cadaver work individually.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  1. Interpret CBCT imaging for full-arch treatment planning, including bone assessment and identification of relevant anatomical landmarks.
  2. Plan implant positions and prosthetic space for All-on-4® treatment.
  3. Observe and analyze the surgical sequence of a live single-arch or dual-arch All-on-4® case, from incision through implant placement.
  4. Demonstrate implant and multi-unit abutment placement on training models.
  5. Practice full-arch incision, implant placement, and abutment placement on mandibular cadaver specimens.
  6. Practice full-arch implant placement on maxillary cadaver specimens.
  7. Demonstrate analog conversion steps for a same-day temporary prosthesis.
  8. Discuss the workflow observed in 3D-printed prosthesis fabrication and delivery.
  9. Differentiate the surgical, restorative, and laboratory phases of full-arch treatment and how they interact on the day of surgery.
  10. Evaluate patient factors that influence full-arch case selection and sequencing.
  11. Integrate digital capture and planning concepts into a full-arch workflow.
  12. Discuss post-surgical management and follow-up considerations for full-arch patients.

Who Should Attend

This is an intermediate-level program. It is written for licensed dentists who already have implant experience — or focused implant education such as our foundational dental implant cadaver course — and want to move into full-arch treatment, as well as prosthodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons, and implant dentists adding the All-on-4® workflow to an existing surgical skill set.

Dentists newer to implant surgery are welcome but will get the most from the cadaver sessions if they're already comfortable with flap design, suturing, and single-implant placement. Because attendees observe the live surgical case and perform hands-on work only on models and cadaver specimens, no live-patient treatment is involved. Restoratively focused dentists who partner with a surgeon will also find the planning and conversion content directly applicable.

The Course Experience

Didactic and Lecture Education

Treatment-planning essentials: CBCT interpretation, bone assessment, anatomical landmarks, and a live treatment-planning session with the instructors.

Live Surgical Observation

Attendees observe Dr. Joe Mehranfar treat a single-arch or dual-arch All-on-4® case, including incision, bone reduction, and implant placement, and later observe the prosthesis delivery for that case.

Hands-On Model Training

Implant placement and multi-unit abutment exercises on training models.

Cadaver Surgical Training

Full-arch work on both mandibular and maxillary cadaver specimens across Days 2 and 3: incision, implant placement, abutment placement, and advanced practice.

Digital Planning and 3D Printing

Digital capture workflow instruction and observation of 3D-printed prosthesis fabrication and delivery.

Case Review and Instructor Mentorship

Treatment-planning and post-surgical case discussions, ending with a final case review on Day 3.

Who Teaches It

Dr. Joe Mehranfar, who performs the live All-on-4 surgical case attendees observe

The Live Case: Dr. Joe Mehranfar

Diplomate ABOI/ID

Attending dentists observe Dr. Joe Mehranfar treat a single-arch or dual-arch All-on-4® case. Dr. Mehranfar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID), a former adjunct professor at Midwestern University and A.T. Still University, and a lecturer for Nobel Biocare and SprintRay. Watching a full-arch case executed start to finish — with narration of the decisions behind each step — is the anchor experience of the course.

Dr. Blake Adams, who leads the educational components of the All-on-4 cadaver course

The Education: Dr. Blake Adams

Implantologist

Dr. Blake Adams, DDS, leads the didactic, hands-on model, cadaver, treatment-planning, and post-surgical educational components. A University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry graduate who completed a Masters of Implantology through UNLV and the California Implant Institute, Dr. Adams guides attendees through every hands-on station — so the planning principles from the morning lecture are reinforced at the cadaver table in the afternoon.

To be explicit: attendees observe the live surgery; all attendee hands-on work occurs on models and cadaver specimens.
